  • Chronic Pain Management - Los Angeles Hypnosis & Hypnotherapy

Relieve chronic pain with Board Certified Hypnotherapist Brice Le Roux, a pain management specialist with a successful track record. Call today! PAIN MANAGEMENT HYPNOTHERAPY > Los Angeles Hypnotherapy Services - Certified Therapeutic Hypnosis For Chronic Pain Management Manage Your Chronic Pain Naturally With The Help Of Therapeutic Hypnosis Therapeutic Hypnosis is a poweful tool to lessen chronic pain and provide remarkable relief to those who suffer from it. A recent analysis of 18 studies by researchers at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York revealed significant pain-relieving effects from Therapeutic Hypnosis, supporting the effectiveness of hypnotherapy for pain management. Among those conditions studied were: cancer related pains, arthritis, neck and back pains, and relieving anxiety related to surgery. Scores of scientific studies attest to the power of the mind and the fact that many illnesses have a psychological component to them. These studies verify that it is possible to control physical responses — such as pain — through use of the mind. Your subconscious mind is powerful. The same way it can cause pain or aggravate illnesses and pain if you are stressed or anxious, it can also lessen or silence discomfort altogether. Case studies consistently show the power of the mind in managing pain by resolving pent-up emotions or just defusing them. This is exactly what therapeutic hypnosis can help you do. Psychological approaches to pain relief are well documented, and hypnosis has been widely used for decades in this area. Dr Milton Erickson, one of the world's leading lights in the use of Therapeutic Hypnosis, used his skills to manage his own chronic pain from the two bouts of polio he suffered during his lifetime. "Hypnosis takes the edge off and makes [patients] feel better. With some, it’s dramatic. It works so well they don’t need pain medicine at all. . . Hypnosis is an astonishingly powerful pain reliever. . . that seems to be useful for virtually every clinical pain problem imaginable." – Dave Patterson, MD, University of Washington, Harbor View Burn Center One of the problems with chronic pain management is that the brain habituates to pain-killing drugs, requiring higher and higher doses. Hypnotherapy works in a different way, causing the brain to stop responding to pain signals. The trick to using hypnosis for pain management is to learn the skills contained within sessions, so that you can then use them yourself whenever you need them. Many people quickly grasp the techniques and gain relief from the start. Through the deeply relaxing state of hypnosis, you can reduce — or even eliminate — mild to chronic pain. Hypnotherapy is unsurpassed in its ability to make you feel calm and comfortable again. All therapeutic hypnosis sessions include teaching you self-hypnosis, so that you have the ability to control your comfort level — to relieve pain and boost your comfort level whenever you need to. Stop that nightmares coming back with Board Certified Hypnotherapist Brice Le Roux, a sleep disorders specialist with a successful track record. Call today! HYPNOTHERAPY FOR NIGHTMARES & BAD SLEEP > Los Angeles Hypnotherapy Services - Board Certified Therapeutic Hypnosis For Nightmares & Sleep Disorders Stop Those Nightmares Coming Back For Good Nightmares and bad dreams can ruin your nights. Because they seem so real, they can leave you feeling traumatized and even dreading going to sleep. We can stop nightmares by changing them so that they are no longer fearful. This can be done with therapeutic hypnosis and the process is fast and comfortable. In fact, you can look forward to a better night's sleep straight away. Dreams come from emotional expectations during waking hours that are not fulfilled so the emotional arousal is never 'switched off.' In other words, we dream to 'complete the circuit'. So if you have frightening thoughts but what you fear isn't resolved during the day, then your subconscious mind may try to complete the pattern by producing a nightmare. Nightmares are just symbolic representations of your unfulfilled fears and anxieties from the day before. If you continue to worry about the same thing every day, you'll continue to have the same recurring bad dreams night after night. It's as simple as that. • Weight Loss Hypnosis In Los Angeles

Lose weight naturally with Los Angeles hypnotherapist Brice Le Roux, a weight loss specialist with a successful track record. HYPNOTHERAPY FOR NATURAL WEIGHT LOSS > Los Angeles Hypnotherapy Services - Board Certified Hypnosis For Natural Weight Loss & Weight Control A Safe And Natural Way To Lose Weight For Good You’ve probably tried dieting, diet fads, diet pills, and exercising, and yet, the elusive goal of losing weight has slipped you by. Diet fads are just that — fads — and diet pills, well, as we all know from the example of Fen-Phen, they can be very dangerous and are not even worth the risk. And, let me guess, the combination of dieting and exercising lasted for only a short period of time because you lost your willpower and went back to your old eating habits. Why have you not lost weight with diet and exercise alone? Willpower is an insufficient tool in our weight-loss journey. Willpower is located in the conscious part of our brain. It gives a short burst of mental energy for a short period of time, and no more. That explains why you do so well at the beginning of all your diet and exercise routines, but then end up back in the same rut. The moment your willpower runs out, you go back to your old behavioral patterns, which are the same ones that made you gain weight in the first place. Why hypnosis for weight loss? Because our habits and behaviors are located in our subconscious mind, this is the part of our mind that we must access to create real, long-lasting changes. This part of your brain runs on automatic. Whenever you are faced with a new situation, your mind — faster than the blink of an eye — goes to this same place to find information (negative and positive behavioral patterns) on how you have reacted to this same or similar situation in the past. Here is an example: Let’s say that you have a weakness for sweets and you are out at a restaurant. You may have eaten a sensible dinner, but once the dessert cart comes by, the smells, sights, and even memories of what it’s like to bite down on your favorite dessert are automatically triggered. You begin to salivate, and in no time respond with, “I’ll take that one!” Think back to the last scenario where you were tempted to eat that certain something that you knew didn’t fit with your weight loss goals. Remember how you suffered and mulled over eating it until you at last gave in. By the next day or so, you were already feeling bad about yourself. You know the feeling. It’s a vicious cycle. Hypnosis allows us to access the subconscious part of the mind to create the changes you want so that you don’t have to suffer or consciously deprive yourself to achieve your goals. That’s because the subconscious mind is much more powerful than the conscious. It is the source of your real power — your decision-making self, the very core of who you are, resides there. In fact, it is estimated that about 88 percent of our mind power is purely subconscious, which is why hypnosis is so effective at creating long-lasting change. Now that you know the mechanics of why you haven’t been able to successfully lose weight on your own, you can stop feeling guilty or angry with yourself about your weight. Now you know that there is something out there that can help you create the changes you want. Losing weight isn’t just about losing weight. It’s about taking back control and doing it in a balanced, sustained manner. Scientific studies support hypnosis for weight loss “[Those] using non-conscious self-regulatory systems [hypnosis] were less stressed after refusing candy and more able to persevere on challenging tasks than those using only conscious choice.” — U. of Minnesota Social Psych Researcher, January 2006 Long Term Results – 109 people were advised to change their diet and get exercise, while a subgroup had these ideas reinforced during hypnosis. After nine weeks, both groups lost weight. Two years and eight months later, researchers followed up with the group and found that the hypnosis subgroup continued to move, eat properly, and lose weight, while the non-hypnosis group gained most of their weight back. “…it is clear that hypnosis supports diet and exercise adherence.” ( “Effectiveness of hypnosis as an adjunct to behavioral weight management,” David N Bolocofsky; Dwayne Spinler, Linda Coulthard-Morris, (1985), Journal of Clinical Psychology, 41 (1), 35-41) Hypnosis allows you to say goodbye to emotional eating stemming from: Anxiety Depression Bad Childhood Eating Patterns A Subconscious Desire For Protection Weight loss hypnosis sessions will create positive behavioral patterns specifically designed to aid in weight loss. These include: Craving healthy foods Drinking more water Losing interest in eating sugar or fatty foods Creating a deep-seated desire to exercise and be active If you are serious about once and for all releasing the weight that doesn't belong on your body, get in touch today to discuss the suitability of your needs and hypnotherapy as an agent of your change. • Improve Your Relationships - Los Angeles Hypnotherapy & Counseling

Improve your relationships with Board Certified Hypnotherapist & Counselor Brice Le Roux, a relationship specialist with a successful track record. HYPNOTHERAPY FOR RELATIONSHIP HELP > Los Angeles Hypnotherapy Services - Certified Therapeutic Hypnosis For Relationship Help Improve Your Relationships With The Help Of Therapeutic Hypnosis Why would you want help with relationships? Because relationships are the central pillar of a happy and satisfying life, that's why. Whether it's about making it work with a new partner, putting things right after a spat, dealing with insecurity, or looking to make strong partnerships in the business world, therapeutic hypnosis can help you deal with the psychological and emotional issues that arise in any relationship and provide you with the tools to empower yourself for success. What better way to improve one's relationships than by starting off understanding how relationships work? Most relationship books in circulation focus on the innate differences between men and women in their attempts to explain why some relationships struggle or fail. After studying John Kappas' Relationships Strategies Theory at the Hypnosis Motivation Institute, I realized how completely unfounded such rationalization is. For, there is no inherently male behavior or inherently female tendency; rather, people, as individuals, possess dominant tendencies and traits, regardless of their gender. We can categorize people as either “Emotional” or “Physical”, and most relationships are composed of one individual of each type (as opposites attract). Both genders can be both types (Physical or Emotional), and we are all a delicately balanced mix of both. Unless we learn to recognize our own behavior as well as our partners, we are destined to repeat the same patterns and mistakes in relationships over and over again. Does this sound familiar? 1. Your partner does not desire sex as much as you usually do 2. Your partner’s career takes priority over your relationship 3. Your partner withdraws when he or she is rejected 4. Your partner fears any potential loss of control 5. Your partner prefers interacting one-on-one or in small groups rather than in large groups 6. Your partner does not show as much affection or emotion as you do 7. Your partner leaves all the planning and socializing to you 8. Your partner wants to roll over and go to sleep after sex, rather than cuddle Or, does this sound familiar? 1. Your partner wants sex more often than you do 2. Your partner gets upset that you do not put as much “effort” into the relationship 3. Your partner needs a lot of attention and/or validation 4. Your partner does not give you enough space and is far too pushy when you withdraw 5. Your partner does not take rejection well 6. Your partner wants to socialize more than you do and feels much more comfortable in groups than you do 7. Appearance and dressing is far more important to your partner than it is to you 8. Your partner wants to cuddle after sex, while you just want to enjoy your personal space If the above notions resonated with you, you just defined your partner as the "Emotional" type. If the above notions above seem all too familiar, you just defined your partner as the "Physical" type. If you just read this and came to the conclusion that you and your partner are complete opposites, congratulations! You are in a very workable relationship. If two emotionally-dominant individuals are involved in a relationship, they will likely become friends and not much else; the relationship will probably lack excitement. By contrast, if two physically-dominant individuals are engaged in a relationship, it will likely be plagued by competition and immense tension. In the beginning, such heat and tension may be mistaken for passion, but the relationship will most likely unravel. I help my clients gain newfound perspective regarding their relationships, both current and future. Call today to schedule a consultation and keep in mind that it's never too late to start improving the way you approach and handle your relationships. If you want to take a quiz to see what your dominant behavior is, go to testmyrelationship.com/intro Get in touch The Change Method offers a powerful combination of therapeutic hypnosis and state-of-the-art mental coaching techniques to help you improve your present and/or future relationships. • Brice Le Roux Hypnosis & Hypnotherapy - Los Angeles & Santa Monica

Hypnotherapy helps you take control of your life and reach your highest level of excellence. Call today for a free preliminary phone consultation. A PROVEN METHOD FOR CHANGE > Hypnotherapy Los Angeles - Healing - Addictions - Anxiety - Fears - Performance - Confidence - Motivation If you are struggling to accomplish what you want, if things are just not working, having a trusted and proven method back you in your determination to get more out of life is one of the most resourceful decisions you can make. Based on a powerful combination of Therapeutic Hypnosis, Performance Coaching, and Neuro-Linguistic Programming, The Change Method has been developed to help you rapidly access the behaviors you require to unlock your highest potential. The conscious mind – logic, reasoning and will-power– only makes up for 10% of our total mind power. HOW HYPNOTHERAPY WORKS Because the conscious mind makes up only around 10-12% of our total mind power, initiating change at the conscious level can be very difficult. By contrast, the subconscious mind encompasses the other 88-90%. This vast portion of our mind houses the unconscious life script (or "programming") that influences virtually everything we do. And more often than not, we have things going on in it of which we have no idea, like limiting beliefs, blocks, fears, and lots of other faulty programming. If those aren't congruent with our conscious desires—and most of the time they aren't, it’s not hard to see which part of the mind will get its way. Hypnotherapy deals with how an undesired belief or behavior can be unlearned and how a desired one can be learned to replace it. What we do is simply help you reprogram your subconscious mind to make it accordant with what you want consciously, until it translates into a new automatic behavior that is perfectly aligned with your goals and desires. In other words, we help you turn your subconscious mind into a powerful goal machine that works for you and not against you to create positive, lasting changes in your life. NLP has been called "the new methodology of achievement" and is said to be the greatest contribution to behavioral sciences in the last 30 years. NEURO LINGUISTIC PROGRAMMING “What is it that makes the difference between somebody who is merely competent at any given skill and somebody who excels at the same skill?” Before the development of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), we had explanations as to why we act in certain ways. Since NLP, we have the understanding of how we act in those ways. Used by leaders such as Barack Obama, Bill Gates or Tiger Woods, NLP enables a competent person to turn their old performance into one of excellence. BENEFITS OF NLP ▶ Would you like to have more control over your emotional states and be able to easily change your attitude and perspective? ▶ Would you like to learn the success skills of experts, then consciously and unconsciously reproduce that expert behavior in your own life? ▶ Would you like to know how to motivate yourself and others using the most advanced persuasion techniques? Throughout your sessions, you will learn the very fabric of thoughts and actions and make yours a set of behavioral skills that can be a solid foundation for all of your life goals. • Therapeutic Hypnosis For Sports Performance - Los Angeles Hypnotherapy

Even if you are not competing as a professional athlete, sports hypnosis can help you attain higher levels of performance in whatever sport you play. SPORTS PEAK PERFORMANCE HYPNOSIS > Los Angeles Sports Performance Hypnosis & Mental Coaching Services Hypnosis Sports Peak Performance Los Angeles Hypnosis Sports Peak Performance Los Angeles 1/1 Advanced Hypnotherapy For Sports Performance Serious athletes are often determined to find anything that will give them an edge over their competition, as well as help them perform optimally. Sports Hypnosis and guided imagery have been utilized by many such athletes to improve their game. While some regard hypnosis as some magical form of mind control, it is actually a legitimate form of treatment which has proven to be highly effective in bringing about positive change, developing beneficial new habits and behaviors, or releasing unhealthy or unproductive emotions. Countless well-known athletes have worked with clinically trained hypnotherapists to achieve significant gains in their personal performance, regardless of their sport, and here's why. Since the subconscious mind is really the driving force between most of our beliefs and behaviors, it makes sense that a technique which elicits change at the subconscious level can be highly effective. Sports hypnosis is such a technique. Sports hypnosis can help an athlete: Overcome issues of self-doubt which may be keeping him/her from moving to the next level Fine-tune a technique and have a level of confidence which will enable him/her to excel beyond what he may have previously thought possible Acquire the intense focus required to be at the top in his/her sport Overcome performance anxiety or pre-game jitters which can make the difference between winning a gold medal and coming in 4th place Tiger Woods is an excellent example of an incredible athlete who has used hypnosis to achieve a phenomenal level of success in his sport. He has reportedly been utilizing powerful self-hypnosis techniques since he was 13. Not only has he used Sports Hypnosis to visualize every swing and stroke in his mind before executing it on the course, he also uses it to "get in the zone". Self-hypnosis methods have helped him quiet his mind, release any anxiety, and become 100% focused as he plays the game. Such laser focus can be especially important in a game like golf where onlookers and other things can be very distracting. Tiger Woods has clearly shown how powerful hypnosis can be to conquer his own mind and achieve extremely high levels of success. As Tiger Woods can attest, guided imagery (or "visualization") is an effective self-hypnosis technique which can help athletes perform better. A gymnast may visualize him/herself going through every movement of his/her routine over and over in his/her mind. A basketball player may visualize him/herself making a perfect free throw shot hundreds of times. By using self-hypnosis techniques, these athletes are conditioning their minds and their bodies to carry out the movements in reality just as they have performed them hundreds of times in their minds. An interesting experiment has validated this fact. An experimenter randomly divided a large group of men into three smaller groups. One group practiced shooting free-throws into a basketball hoop for several weeks, the second group visualized shooting free-throws but did not practice, the third group didn't practice or visualize. Not surprisingly, the last group made no improvement; in fact, they got worse. The group who practiced actual free-throws for several weeks improved the greatest, but only slightly better than the group who just visualized shooting free-throws. What we script or imagine becomes automated by the subconscious mind. Athletes will often use imagery and visualization just before their event to achieve their desired goal. Once they have pictured it in their mind they then simply proceed to do it. Utilizing this technique is especially beneficial when the sport requires a brief burst of energy. Another way that hypnosis can help competitive athletes is in dealing with pain and injuries. Learning to dissociate from the pain can help them better cope with it and perform in spite of it. Hypnosis can also help athletes recover more quickly from a sports injury. By accelerating the recovery time, the athlete can return to practice and competition more quickly, which can be key for athletes competing at the highest levels. Even if you are not training for the Olympics or competing as a professional athlete, Sports Hypnosis can help you attain higher levels of performance in whatever sport you play. And like many of my clients, you may find your performance improving much more than you thought possible. Without a doubt, it is the mind that determines the outcome of our performance and behavior. Working with me, you will benefit from multiple psychological principles and cutting edge mental techniques specifically tailored for you and your sport. In-person office sessions are available Monday-Friday 9am-8pm. I also work with many athletes remotely via FaceTime or Zoom with great success. I normally take my athletes through a 5 to 10 session protocol. In that process, most importantly, we clear all of the mental baggage that interferes with achieving peak performance: useless limiting beliefs, faulty programs, old hurts/injuries, etc. In addition, the athlete learns: intention, self-empowerment, thought control, emotional mastery, self-hypnosis, and how to increase self-confidence. Those skills develop mental toughness and lead athletes to the gateway of "the zone". • Irritable Bowel Syndrome - Los Angeles Hypnosis & Hypnotherapy

Overcome IBS with Board Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist Brice Le Roux, a medical hypnosis specialist with a successful track record. HYPNOTHERAPY FOR IBS & GUT DISORDERS > Hypnotherapy Los Angeles - Alleviate Irritable Bowel Syndrome With The Help Of Therapeutic Hypnosis Therapeutic Hypnosis For Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and Gut Disorders While there is no single, one shot cure for IBS, there are a variety of treatment options for it, and hypnosis is one of them. A large number of studies have verified that therapeutic hypnosis can be highly effective in alleviating the symptoms of IBS, and, what’s more, in contrast to other treatments, hypnosis has no side effects. Irritable bowel syndrome, or IBS as it’s often known, is a condition of the digestive system, with symptoms such as abdominal cramps, diarrhea, constipation and feeling bloated. Before starting hypnosis, it’s very important to get checked out by a medical professional to verify that your symptoms are a result of IBS, and not some other condition with similar symptoms. IBS affects between ten and fifteen per cent of people at some point in their lives. Its exact causes are still unclear, but we do know that IBS can be triggered or exacerbated by long periods of stress. The pain and discomfort of IBS, and the fact that it’s hard to predict when you will experience a flare up, can really interfere with your quality of life, and many people find it an upsetting and distressing condition to deal with at times. Hypnosis can help with IBS in a number of ways In a 2001 study at the University of Manchester in England, 250 patients with IBS were given 12 sessions of hypnotherapy, and when they were interviewed five years later, 71% of them reported that they experienced lasting improvements in their condition. Firstly, regular deep relaxation counteracts the stress response. When you’re under stress, due to certain pressures or worries in your life, the brain perceives that there is a threat to your safety, and it switches on your fight or flight response, just as it might do if a lion was hungrily eyeing you up in the wild. When this happens, your adrenal glands release adrenaline, which switches on certain responses in the body, such as sweating, quicker breathing, accelerated heart rate and so forth, gearing you up for the action you need to take to escape from danger. And it also switches off other responses that are not essential to survival in the short term, such as your sex drive, your immune system, and your digestion, because you really don’t need to be making love, or munching popcorn when you’re running for your life from a lion. This is fine in a short term situation, of course, but if you feel stressed for hours, days, weeks, or even months, your adrenal glands will be constantly side-lining your digestion. So what was an adaptive response – switching off non-essential functions for short term survival – becomes maladaptive as the immune system, sex drive and digestion stop functioning properly. When you relax deeply, you counteract all this. Your immune system works better and your stomach begins to get the oxygen and blood it needs in order to work better. Deep relaxation is the antidote to on-going stress. Hypnosis has been used for many years to help manage pain, accelerate healing, and to calm down inflammatory conditions of all kinds. For example, when people intensely visualize their immune system working better, by picturing healthy, strong white blood cells fighting off small, weak germs and bacteria, their white blood cell count measurably increases within a few minutes. With hypnosis and visualization, people can learn to directly influence their own bodies, including alleviating the discomfort of IBS. As well as helping you to enter a profoundly deep state of relaxation, therapeutic hypnosis will guide your mind to soothe and heal your gut so that you can experience a much greater sense of calm and peace deep inside. • Sports Performance Hypnosis - Los Angeles Hypnotherapy & Coaching

Ranked among the best sports hypnotherapists in Los Angeles, Brice Le Roux helps you improve your athletic performance and achieve your goals. Call today! SPORTS PEAK PERFORMANCE HYPNOSIS > Los Angeles Sports Performance Hypnosis & Mental Coaching Services Professional Hypnosis For Sports Performance What do Tiger Woods and Wayne Gretzky have in common? Both have used hypnosis to successfully increase their sports performance. A 2000 study conducted at the Sheffield Hallam University showed how Sports Hypnosis aided the performance of five golfers. The study compared the average putting score of the golfers prior to and after having hypnosis. The results showed that the average putting score of the golfers consistently increased following hypnosis. The golfers also reported feeling less anxious about how they would perform and more confident in their putting abilities. How well you play or compete has everything to do with the associations and automatic responses that are stored in your subconscious mind. The moment you go to hit, throw a ball, or run, your mind — without rationalizing — responds with whatever pattern it holds. Through sports hypnosis and guided imagery, we can train your subconscious mind to automatically perform like a pro because succeeding in any sport is not just about a specific movement but most of all about your mindset. It is by training the subconscious mind that the well-trained athlete enters what is often referred to as "the zone" — that peak area of performance in which all movements flow without conscious thought. Removing Blocks Just as positive associations can be formed in the subconscious mind, so can negative ones. For example, a football quarterback may have been unable to advance more than ten yards in the rain during a spectacularly bad game. This quarterback might thereafter subconsciously associate rain with playing poorly. Negative associations such as this make it harder for the athlete to find that perfect place where mind and body become one, and their performance ultimately suffers. Negative associations such as this make it hard for the athlete to perform because the mind subconsciously wants to continuously go back to that previous negative – but familiar, hence reassuring – pattern. This often leads to anxiety as the athlete stops believing in himself and starts anticipating the worst. Sports Hypnosis can reveal all those hidden associations that have been holding you back and break them by tapping into the powerful subconscious. Mastering The Mental Game Creating new positive associations and patterns is important in enabling reliable and lasting performance. With Sports Hypnosis and guided imagery, we can condition your mind to enter "the zone" when playing. By mentally rehearsing your performance under hypnosis, you can lastingly input motivation and self-confidence into your game. Science has shown that when a person mentally rehearses playing a sport, the body areas used in that sport receive electrical signals. This shows that the mind truly does affect the body. In many ways, the mind is like a muscle: the more you exercise it, the stronger it will become. An interesting experiment has validated this fact. An experimenter randomly divided a large group of men into three smaller groups. One group practiced shooting free-throws into a basketball hoop for several weeks, the second group visualized shooting free-throws but did not actually practice, the third group didn't practice or visualize. Not surprisingly, the last group made no improvement; in fact, they got worse. The group who practiced actual free-throws for several weeks improved the greatest, but only slightly better than the group who just visualized shooting free-throws. In other words, what we script or imagine becomes automated by the subconscious mind. When we are through, the athlete is able to keep him/herself clear, continue to build confidence with these tools and apply it all to other areas of life. I am most proud that this training helps a lot of young athletes build solid life skills through sport. Call 424-645-7517 or send an email to arrange an appointment time. Golf Tiger Woods has been using self-hypnosis since the age of 13. Golfer Jack Nicklaus gave full credit to hypnosis for his record wins. He consistently said that 90% of winning was mental. Basketball Coach Phil Jackson, who has coached some of the greatest players in basketball, started using sports hypnosis and mental imagery with the Chicago Bulls in the 90's, and used it also with the Los Angeles Lakers. With his guidance, the Bulls won 6 NBA Championships and the Lakers, 3 in a row. He has coached Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and Shaquille O’Neal. Tennis Tennis champion Jimmy Connors used sports hypnosis prior to winning the US Open Championship. Andre Agassi used sports hypnotherapy throughout his whole career. Boxing Boxer Kevin McBride who beat Tyson said that he did it with the use of sports hypnosis. Ken Norton defeated Muhammed Ali by using sports hypnotherapy. Not long after, Muhammed Ali started using it himself. Gymnastics After consulting a hypnoterapist in 1984, Mary Lou Retton became the first American woman to win a gold medal in gymnastics at the Olympics. Olympic Competitions The Soviet Union Olympic team of 1956 had a team of hypnotherapists travel with them. That year, they won the most medals of any nation. Baseball Hypnotherapy worked so well for Rod Carew that it gave him the best season of his entire career. He won the MVP award the year he started using sports hypnosis. Bill Buckner of the Chicago Cubs and Los Angeles Dodgers also used sports hypnosis. Track and Field In 1964, after being pushed by another runner, Billy Mills made his way forward and won gold in the 10,000 meters at the Olympics. He credits his self-hypnosis visualization techniques for the win. Hockey NHL Hockey players Kevin Weekes and center Brad Richards have both used hypnosis to stay calm and focused. Body Building Every wrestler that I have ever met uses imagery to mold their body into a piece of art.
